Errata

 

The following are the currently known (mostly cosmetic) errors in the first print of the book.

 

  1. P.288, Fig 8.1: The correct figure was as follows:
  2. P.434: The caption for Figure 11.2 should have included:
    "Courtesy of System Software Associates, Inc."
    in small text immediately underneath it.
  3. P.486, in bolded lead-in "Business entity lifecycle": The italicized sub-lead-ins (e.g. "create<name of entity>" are not sufficiently indented.
  4. P.487, third paragraph from top starting "A business component can manage ...": This paragraph is part of the bolded lead-in section "Business entity lifecycle". It should be indented more.
  5. P.489, second bullet starting "In this example, ...": This paragraph is not a bullet – it is a continuation of the previous bullet.
  6. P.489, in the bulleted list, change "interface" to "operation" as follows: 
    1. first bullet, last line: change "interface" to "operation", so that this line reads:
      ple, the following could be the operation for a contract-based exchange.
    2. second bullet, last line: change "interface" to "operation", so that this line reads:
      ple, the previous operation could be delivered by two operations, such as:
  7. P.489, the two code examples should be indented further, as they are on P.492)
  8. P.490, first bullet starting "This kind of thinking ...": This paragraph is not a bullet – it is a continuation of the previous bullet.
  9. P.524, last paragraph starting "Let us illustrate...": This paragraph – and the following three paragraphs (that is, all paragraphs up to the bolded lead-in "Identification" on P.526) are part of the previous bolded lead-in "Relationships", and so should be indented.
